Edward Cornish

Cornish proposes a professionalization of futures study -- developing a "science of forecasting" -- as a solution to the terrors and foreboding attitudes. He describes the modern futurist movement formed by those who use non-mystical means to study future events. He identifies the three major emerging postulates of the futurist perspective [96]: (1) UNITY - interconnectedness, holistic; (2) TIME - where futures are built from materials of the present, time is part of the unity, in periods of immediacy or deltas of time; (3) Importance of IDEAS.
