Hunting Lieutenant Chadbourne is not your conventional history. This book details the efforts that the author took to find the history of Lt. Chadbourne, and pays less attention to the actual history itself. It is a unique look at the way history is discovered, and I would really like to see this done with a historical character who has a little more history to discover. The book also suffers a little because the author is given to much more introspection than is the typical history author. I personally tended to skim those areas, which to me read more like an essay for a Freshman English class than anything else. Overall, an interesting read, but a little too long in the introspective parts, and too short in the historical parts (although this is not the fault of the author, the information just is not there to be had).… (plus d'informations)
