Uncaged Love by KaLyn Cooper
Book 2 in the Black Swan series. Contemporary romantic suspense. Government letter agencies Suspense. Can be read as a stand-alone. Active duty women.
AFT Special Agent Harper is kidnapped by a Columbian drug lord to create a bomb to get rid of his enemies. Undercover CIA Agent Rafe will do whatever is needed to save Harper including breaking his own cover.

Intense and thrilling. She is kick-it strong and independent and will take any advantage she can get. I have to admit her knowledge of Rafe’s former fiancé as a case study was worse than what he knew. Her one sentence thought was brutal and nightmarish but it also gave credence to her skills and willingness to push through.
Rafe was surprising.
Great suspense and action. I can’t wait to read more by this author.

Not for me

Confusing opening with a reference to Lady Harrier assisting a wounded man, followed by Lady Hawk making a radio report, which stopped me in my tracks wondering whether these were meant to be the same character and whether one was a name and the other a nickname. It became clear a little further on that they were part of a group of females whose code names all started with “Lady”, which seems unlikely.

There was an excessive amount of crude language by the women, and too much graphic sexual imaginings, and that‘s just in the first three or four pages. Binned, without reading further.… (plus d'informations)

A Fun Christmas read

This was the first book I've read by KaLyn Cooper but it won't be the last. A Seal hero, a search for treasure, and a sweet mother and child who deserve a happy ever after this was a fun Christmas read.

Strong cast of characters in this fast paced action adventure. Harper Tambini has quite the resume. She’s been the female equivalent of a navy seal in the army, lots of degrees one of which includes chemicals which lead her to join ATF. At the completion of an op in Columbia, Harper is kidnapped by a drug lord who wants to use her to create a bomb to take out a rival. Said drug lords lieutenant Rafe Silva, happens to be an undercover CIA agent who does his best to protect her – even though she can take care of herself pretty well – before they can be extracted. There is plenty of action during her time with the drug lord and during their escape all while these two finally give into their sexual needs with each other but a past tragedy in Rafe past means he isn’t looking to get involved with another adrenaline junkie who is constantly putting herself in danger. Other than a bit of a rushed ending and to quickly dealing with Rafe’s issue I thought this was a solid read for a debut book and look forward to seeing what is next from this author.… (plus d'informations)
