I went into this story only knowing that the book was marketed as Rick Riordan meets Raina Telgemeier. I was thrilled to see that this was true. The art was beautiful and the mythology was scattered throughout.
Although the story was quite predictable, I think it will be great for younger readers who don't know much about Greek mythology.
Overall, I say that this book was just a cute and fun story perfect for all ages.

The artwork is lovely, but, even with the mystery element, I didn’t care for the characters. Artemis has the most personality here even if she is grumpy most of the time. Karen is just overly clueless, and the dialogue feels slightly off, at times. The ending is very cheerful, but nothing wrong with something light-hearted. Not too bad overall.

This is a fun story, along the lines of Percy Jackson. Karen lives happily with her mum, and then one day when Karen is about 13, her mum gets a great job opportunity and sends Karen (mostly willingly) to live with her mysterious absentee father, Zed, in Mt Olympus, Greece. Karen is of course clueless, though it is immediately obvious to the reader that she has been dropped right in the middle of the land of Greek mythology, on contemporary earth (or sort of floating above it). Her new pals in middle school are goddesses, reincarnated (periodically) in new forms to stave off the boredom of immortality, though totally aware of their true identities. They all become embroiled in a mystery when one of their friend is turned to stone. It’s a fun placement of these classic characters, and I look forward to the second volume.… (plus d'informations)

Karen and her divine friends find their way into a maze under their school, as Karen is determined to find a troll who has hacked her precious gaming time with her friends from back home in New Jersey. M1N0T4UR is a disruptive presence whose location has been tracked within the school. The friends find their way into the old maze (a training ground previously) and must confront a series of trials in order to locate their quarry. Along the way, Karen discovers her hidden demigoddess powers, and the group discovers the truth behind the M1N0T4UR. Once again, the author manages to weave a classical story into the lives of contemporary (if divine) teens, and the result is a fun, imaginative story. I don't think there are any more of these yet, but I'll keep my eyes peeled!… (plus d'informations)
