Storm Constantine (1956–2021)

A beautiful and well written collection of Tanith inspired stories. These "Night's Nieces" share their memories with the fans and let us into Tanith's world, then give us wonderful stories to read. I was touched by the pictures that were shared and John Kaiine's words in the introduction. All in all this book was a wonderful gift to the fans so we could have a piece of Tanith Lee for our collections.

I enjoyed each story deeply. They all felt like stories by Tanith herself. At several points I had to remind myself I wasn't reading a Lee collection. I couldn't pick a favorite story but Freda Warrington's Ruins and Bright Towers, Sarah Singleton's City of Gold and Kari Sperring's Night in Day were spectacular. All were fabulous and worth every moment it took to read.

A more interesting collection (at least to me) than the Kathe Koja collection. Some stories I didn't like (it's rare I like all the stories in an anthology, especially a multi-author anthology), but in general I found the stories interesting and, more importantly, readable. I think it's important for a short story to be information-rich and not too experimental. Virtually all the stories are set in the UK and all treat with the landscape in some way or another. In some cases it's memory - revisiting places that were important to the protagonist, in others it's current action. Recommended.… (plus d'informations)
