I hate that I rated this book so low. After all, the illustrations are GORGEOUS. There was a warning that 'Tiny Little Rocket" would make me want to blast off into space and this certainly did that! However, the text is WAY. TOO. TINY. It doesn't work in a storytime and I would argue that I'm skeptical of it being done as a bedtime read. For an emerging reader, they would have a hard time even finding where the text is (it's in odd spots!).

Hence. My low review

Climb aboard the rocket ship as you blast off and navigate through space. Great illustrations and a fun rhyming text make this a wonderful bedtime or anytime storybook. Find out what the mission is as you zoom through space!

I would say it is for fourth graders. Ages eight and nine years old. Great theme and lesson for all young ages.

Some illustrations show the rocket from the outside, zooming through space; others show the view out the ship's window. A final double fold-out page has more text about birthdays ("Everybody's birthday is measured the same way: by how many times the Earth has gone round the sun") and the age of the Earth itself ("Nobody knows exactly when the Earth's first birthday was! However, most scientists nowadays agree that the Earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old"). The final spread shows all the planets, including Pluto (which is labeled as a dwarf planet and part of the Kuiper belt).… (plus d'informations)
