Hell & high water par Charlie Cochet

Well crap - and I mean that in a good way because it's obvious that this is going to be a series but that means the HEA is going to be a bit long in coming. I shouldn't complain because what I like a lot about series is the slow build and evolution of the the MC's relationship. It sucks to have to wait. Sigh.

Suffice it to say there are a ton of details in this book - it's our world but with shifters since there are plenty of pop culture references peppered throughout. The supporting cast was awesome, the world building was thorough and omg, the amount of snark that comes out of Dex's mouth leads to plenty of lol ridiculousness. If you want action with tough alphas, interspersed with snippets of tender vulnerability and heat, then this is your book. Can't wait for the next installment!… (plus d'informations)

The auspicious troubles of chance par Charlie Cochet

3.5 Stars

I definitely found this an unique historical in its telling and its setting!

Chance is basically a loner due to some very tragic circumstances that have hit him many times over throughout his life. He’s a lot self destructive and understandably has trust issues which have prevented him from forming any lasting and meaningful relationships.

As he enlists into French Foreign Legion to escape his demons, he’s assigned to a commander known for his bravery and instilling loyalty in the most resistant of men. Irrevocably, Jacky changes Chance’s life and makes him want to be a better man, one who’s deserving of love and can give it back 100 percent.

Plenty sexy with a good bit of sassiness, this was a promising start. What I liked the most about this was the set up, letting us know that there are endless possibilities for new love stories and further adventures. I only hope Cochet gives us more than just the 2 books we have.

Sleight of Hand (The Kings: Wild Cards Book 3) par Charlie Cochet

Another fun read in this series. This is definitely another one you need to read as part of a series as it is not a stand-alone. Too much of the character development and world-building is delivered in pieces in previous stories.

Dealing Him In (The Kings: Royal Flush Book 1) par Charlie Cochet

I know I can depend on Charlie to deliver an enjoyable read with a solid plot. I find it interesting that some see her character development as limited, yet I find it quite adequate. True, she does not repeat and she does not do extensive internal monologs, but I find her straightforward style relaxing.
