The overall story was ok. The pacing and world building however was sub par. First the pacing, it was dreadfully slow and painfully laborious sifting through chapters upon chapters of the inner workings of sweet Caroline and the people around her. I appreciate the effort into developing Caroline throughout the story but she was so boring as a main character. Even the side characters were boring. Can we talk about her Asian friend, Mimi. Here is an excerpt from the book describing Mimi's physical appearance " Mimi was different.
