The Otherwise Girl par Keith Claure
Gorgeous literary and philosophical ghost story. Though the girl is 13, and the boy 15, I do think adults would enjoy this more than teens. And the library from which we borrowed it had it shelved in juvenile, which is just wrong. Anyway, it's a short quiet novel that rewards a patient reader with lots to think about. And learning about how an artist learns to look at the world and bring visions to life was pretty cool, too.
