Wow! What a simply refreshing story. You can’t help but fall in love with the zany antics of Lizzie and Phillip in this story that has you laughing and wanting to read on to find out what could possibly happen next.

Ms. Christiansen does a great job making the characters so real you actually find yourself caught up in their outrageous adventures.

Lizzie is a portrait artist that paints pictures of the dead for those living to remember them by. She is tired of her boring life and wants adventure, romance, something different. Beware! What you ask for, you just might get it and more.

Phillip Van Dyke, stuffy funeral director, hiding himself from the world because he is unable to face his past. He is good looking but hides behind Armani suits and black turtlenecks afraid to feel anything for fear of rejection.

Along comes breathtaking Lizzie. From the first time he saw her he felt stirrings deep down for her.

Phillip recently fires her sister Annie, Lizzie gets madder the more she thinks about it and decides to confront Mr. Stiff Neck, as his employees have dubbed him. When she storms into the funeral home things take a twist and off they go on an adventure that keeps you hanging on.

A military casket comes into the funeral home by mistake, setting of all kinds of alarms Phillip calls to let the family know, only to find out that they were never notified by the military. Then a strange service man comes requesting the casket be returned to him. This gives Phillip further need to get to the bottom of this. And when he does he is surprised by what he finds.

Phillip and Lizzie end up getting involved with the mafia who has been smuggling bodies in with drugs inside. Stealing cars along the way, working odd jobs for a few dollars to eat and buy gas. Just so they can stay under the radar.

I could tell you more but that may just ruin the story. Phillip and Lizzie end up on an adventure of a lifetime, along with Lizzie’s sister’s loveable hairless dog. On the way all barriers are broken and Phillip unknowingly has the last of his defenses busted by Lizzie and that loveable dog.

Come along with Ms. Christiansen and follow the laughable antics and fun loving capers of Lizzie and Phillip as they fall in love in the most unusual of circumstances.
