Dennis Chong

A fascinating book, of which I've only read a couple chapters. It basically analyzes the Civil Rights movement in terms of game theory, finding that religion, shame, and peer pressure were key factors in organizing a sustainable, effective non-violent movement. It also found that the only way the movement could proceed was by the starters paying a vastly disproportionate cost relative to the later followers.
