Synopsis: Reacher never backs down from a problem. And he's about to find a big one, on a deserted Arizona road, where a Jeep has crashed into the only tree for miles around. Minutes later Reacher is heading in to the nearby border town. Next to him is Michaela Fenton, and army veteran turned FBI agent, who is trying to find her twin brother. He might have got mixed up with some dangerous people.
And Reacher might just need to pay them a visit. Just to get in and meet their mysterious leader, Reacher is going to have to achieve the impossible. To get answers will be even harder. There are people in this hostile, empty place who would rather die than reveal their secrets. But then, if Reacher is coming after you, you might be better off dead.

Review: Although there are lots of fights and way too much information about models of guns, the story is significantly twisted enough to be interesting. It's hard to determine if the bad guy is the only one or if there is someone else is involved. And what does Michaela actually know about her brother.

Not my favourite Jack Reacher book. Read it but took me longer than usual to read. Have other Lee Child books on my shelf to read but by him alone. Usually pass my books on to my sister but going to donate this elsewhere

This book is set in 1992, and takes us back to Reacher when he was a Captain in the army. Reacher is brought in as a member of a high level team set up by the Secretary of Defence to determine why five former scientists have been murdered. The thing they have in common is they all worked at an American research facility in India in 1969. Something happened at that centre that caused a quick closure of the facility, and a big disbursement of staff back to American shores. It was nice to see Reacher as an army officer, and his interaction with other army staff and superiors. He is still the Jack Reacher that we know and love though--big, brawny, an excellent tactician, and someone who won't tolerate bullshit, and wants to get to the truth at all costs. It also became clear to me why he decided to leave the army and strike out on his own. This is an excellent book, and Reacher and his team's efforts to get to the bottom of this big and very secret mystery kept me guessing until the end. If you are a Jack Reacher fan, you need to read this book.… (plus d'informations)
