Jared Chapman grew up in Texas, but not near any towns you might have heard of. As a kid, he enjoyed drawing, reading, and chasing cows. That sounds like a joke but it isn't. After college, Jared worked as an animator, then he started making books. When he's not drawing or reading, you can find him in at home with his wife, chasing their four kids and an absurd amount of pets.

A little kid feels betrayed when her favorite animal turns out to be a penguin-eating jerk. So Lorelei decides to ask an expert - first at the city zoo, and then in person - in Antarctica. There, a seal confesses to eating penguins...but points out that penguins eat fish. "Is everyone a jerk?" Lorelei wonders. The seal replies, "We're not jerks, we're just wild animals and in nature, some things are just the way they are."

First sentence: 3...2...1...Bedtime!

Pajamas!

Premise/plot: These vegetables have starred in a handful of picture books and board books. This is the latest in the series. These vegetables are quite pleased to model their pajamas for young readers. The text is simple. The illustrations are silly.

My thoughts: This series has been hit or miss for me. I have enjoyed the silly quirkiness of some of the books. I have thought a few of the books more on the pointless side. (Though to laugh and giggle seems to be a united theme for most/all of the books in the series.) Also keep in mind that an adult woman is not the target audience for this series.

I enjoyed this one.

This was a fun book about where and when you can wear underwear. Putin it on Veggies just ups the funny factor.

This book gave me a chuckle mainly because how absurd it is. Underwear, including holiday underwear is for everyone. Big or small there is something for everyone to like. I can see lots of kids getting laughs not just from the story, but mainly from the great illustrations that go along with it.#Wintergames #teamreadnosereindeer +26
