I read this last night. I can't even remember the sex scenes so they must not have been that great. What I do remember however is how little the plot made sense. He hated her and wanted revenge. He fell back in love with her. He forced her to marry him to save her ranch but made her live next door with him and his mother. I know I'd think living with my MIL would be pretty hot. He took the ranch from her but let her work her fingers to the bone there everyday. Then he was all sorry about how he forced her. But I didn't see him being forceful at all. Just a sorry mishmash of half baked motivations and half fulfilled actions. And it seemed like it had such potential. Hmm...

This book just seemed kind of amateurish. It was like half of a book. The author told us what happened but the normal stuff that adds realism to a story was missing. There was no description of where they were and thus the reader was left with no sense of place. It's hard to visualize when all you are told is that they are in California and there is a ranch house, a barn and a bunkhouse. There was almost no description of characters or of their physical actions, what actors call bits of business. It was mostly dialog. I'm not one to enjoy page after page of description but golly give me some.

Now the actual story. In many places it lacked continuity. Motivations seemed weak. The hero was angry one minute and lustful the next and dismissive after that followed up with some boy isn't she funny and sweet. There was an abundance of things like the hero thinking how much he had enjoyed having her around and how much she had brightened up the place. This after she'd been there less than 24 hours. And he hadn't wanted her there and spent half of the time fussing with his brother over hiring her without asking.

I don't believe I'll be reading any more of this author's work since better books from better authors cost the same as this one.

Serena Keller is bored with the vanilla sex she has with her boyfriend, Zane. She yearns to be a submissive, but is afraid to let him know due to the callous treatment of her ex-husband.

Zane O'Malley cares for Serena, but wishes he could act out his dominant tendencies in the bedroom. Since he respects her, he doesn't feel he could show her how he feels without scaring her off.

This was my first story by Maggie Casper and I really enjoyed it. I liked the fact that Serena and Zane were already in a relationship, had issues like any real life couple (lack of communication being the main one) and, eventually, were willing to work things out. The chemistry was great and I had a great feel for them. Zane was very dominant and some of the things he wanted raised my eyebrows, but he was never demeaning and never pushed Serena further than she wanted to go. Serena challenged him both in and out of the bedroom. She had a good head on her shoulders, even though she doubted herself at times. The only issue I had with the book is that it seemed to end abruptly, but it didn't really detract from the overall story.

Honor Rollings is back in Texas to bury her aunt. She has painful memories of her parents death when she was sixteen and has been a wanderer ever since. She takes a temporary job at O'Malley's Pub for extra cash. Honor thinks that Sean is crazy when he tells her that she is the one and lets him know she has no intentions of settling down.

Sean O'Malley knew Honor was the woman for him the minute he laid eyes on her. It didn't take him long to stake a claim on her, but can he make Honor want to stay in Texas with him?

I didn't like this story as much as Zane's Way. I felt that Sean and Honor jumped into things too quickly and there was no real spark. The relationship never really progressed and all of a sudden they loved each other. Honor didn't want to share with Sean how badly the passing of her parents' death affected her and it really bothered me. I guess since I never got a real feel for Honor, I wasn't sympathetic to her pain.

Catarena Vaughn is lurking on a cyber sex site with the username BlackCat trying to get information on BDSM for a book she wants to write. She knows absolutely nothing about it and its getting disgusted with all the sick offers she getting while on the site. After popping into a more private chat room she encounters Maverick who challenges her on why she is there. They go back and forth in there messaging until Mason who has grown tired of the simpering Barbie doll types becomes intrigued with the "kitten" and proposes they set up a instant messaging program and he will give her 10 mins a day to ask him any questions she wants for the research for her book and then the rest of the time he will be in charge and has to do what he says.

Catarena works at a Forture 500 company in the mailroom with her bestfriend and roommate Bailey.

BlackCat and Maverick's session online get more intense. He has mailed her many "toys" and instructs her on how he wants her to use them as they are chatting online. This both shocks and intrigues Cat as she cant believe she is masturbating for a stranger online.

Mason decides its time to take things a step further and wants to video chat with his "kitten". His best friend Sebastian tags along and finds the whole thing humorous by saying "your worth millions and yet for some off-the-wall reason you feel the need to get into ciber porn." But we find out that Sebastian as a few kinks of his own. Seems these two had quite the college sex life with the girls.

After the webcams are setup and Maverick makes BlackCat masturbate in front of him Cat recognizes Maverick and quickly unplugs the webcam.

From here is gets really interesting.... I have read this book multiple times and its still fresh like I just read it for the first time.

The second book with Bailey and Sebastian is just as hot...
