MY THOUGHTS THIS BOOK
I thoroughly enjoyed Reunion in Saltwater Beach by Julie Carobini. This book focuses on Jax and the Cooper Family. The family were all together for their mothers funeral. A lot of decisions had to be made among the family, and as they discussed these things, Jax was a little homesick because he realizes how much he has missed his family.

This fabulous addition to the beach series is comforting and interesting. I really like these wonderful characters Julie Carobini creates, and each has a special part in their family as well as this book. I felt like I was a part of the family as I read this book. I like Jax and especially after his times with his old flame Addi were spending more time together. Addi was a sweetheart as well. The author does an amazing job writing this book and I enjoyed the multitude of details that definitely came from a lot of research. I also love and appreciate the faith in the lives of the characters, especially showing that the characters should always put the Lord first in everything the do and depend on Him.

If you enjoy a good beach read that can really be read anytime and anywhere, this would be the perfect book for you to check out! This book is getting Five Stars from me.

A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

Sometimes unexpected events come from other events, and that includes a second chance to get things right. Jax Cooper, an up and coming lawyer in Chicago, returns to Saltwater Beach on the coast of California for his mother’s funeral. His plans include quickly settling his mother’s estate and returning to his high-powered career in Chicago. "Reunion in Saltwater Beach" by Julie Corbin is part of the Cooper family series of novels.

Addi Brooks, always lived in Saltwater Beach. She found herself working the doggie daycare center Jax’s mom owned. So when he returns for the funeral, and some unexpected events occur including Jax’s brother disappearing, the two find themselves thrown together frequently.

Having never told the other how they felt when they were younger, I looked forward to seeing how the author would develop this story and it did not disappoint. Truly, this book contains loss of a loved one, reunions of siblings, a mysterious disappearance, and some dogs to create an interesting story.

So if you enjoy stories involving second chances at love, and families coming back together, I definitely recommend checking out this book for yourself. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

Reunion in Saltwater Beach, by Julie Carobini is a contemporary Christian fiction story that focuses on the Cooper family after their mother’s death and close friend Addie Barrett. Jax left after high school to become and attorney and has not stayed in contact with very close friend Addi. Believing the other had moved on and started families of their own, they come to realize they both still have feelings for each other.

This is nice realistic story that shows the different emotions a family would go through after a parents death. It also shows what happens when secrets are kept to protect others. I enjoyed the healing that takes place in certain characters when past hurts are brought out and dealt with. This is such a good story, with many emotions running through it.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.

This book is a nice look at past relationships and getting a second chance. I liked Addi and how thoughtful she is to others. She never left her hometown and seems to be content with her life. She helps her father at his store and there is a hint that maybe he is having some problems. Addi is in for a big surprise when someone from her past shows up.

Jax Cooper returns to help his siblings after their mother passes away. She had a big heart for dogs and ran a foster program. Now that she is gone, Jax and his siblings must decide what to do with the shelter and other things such as her house. He has been away a long time and is quite surprised when he runs into Addi. There is an uncomfortable encounter between them. He never forgot her and now here she is still single and living in the town they grew up in.

There are moments in the story where we see Jax and Addi start to open up to each other but something always stops them. Jax is starting to realize that maybe his life is going too fast as he buries himself in his work. He has lost that closeness with his family and especially God. I did like the mystery of one of Jax’s brother missing. He never showed up for their mother’s memorial which is not like him at all. They find a message from him on Facebook but it makes no sense to anyone.

When Addi reveals a secret about Jax’s brother who has been missing since his mother’s death, the truth becomes more than just a confession. Jax never realized what he had done to his brother all those years ago. It is sad to see that a secret can destroy many lives. Addi thought she was doing the right thing, but now she realizes that keeping that secret cost relationships. Can she repair her relationship with her dad? How can she make Jax understand that she kept quiet to protect him?

The author illustrates what happens when you open up to God and allow Him to heal from the past. Forgiveness is at the heart of this story as siblings reconnect and past relationships find a way to try again. The ending is nice and reminds me that it is never to late to follow your dream.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
