Not by the Sword par Nash Candelaria
An accidental read - but a wonderful read. Story of a family in New Mexico living, surviving during the take over of that part of the country by the US during the 1850s. Wonderful insights into the culture of the time and interesting look at the Catholic Church in the frontier era. I plan to read more by this author.
