Portraits of American Philosophy par Steven M. Cahn

Eight prominent American philosophy professors active in the second half of the 20th century talk about their academic careers and developments in their field. I took the book out of the library because one of them is my uncle, and I really enjoyed reading his section. But I really enjoyed a lot of the others also.

Polishing Your Prose: How to Turn First Drafts Into… par Steven Cahn

This is a practical guide to improving your writing without getting pedantic about grammar. I very much appreciated the samples for practice, as well as the sample paragraphs they fixed phrase by phrase. But let's face it. The two essays at the end were a bit of puffery.
