A rather happy children's story, perfect for little girls who love ballet, and so this is a very solid 3 stars.
It has a little hint of fantasy with the magic shoes, and a lesson on charity from the head of the dance school.
Although a children's book, the writing is remarkably mature and the story is well written. Some of the technical terms would probably cause children to stumble while reading, particularly with the pronunciation.

Beautiful books about ballet and magic and funny too. My eight and five year old love them!

It's about a talented ballet dancer called Rosa, who has magical ballet shoes that take her into another world. She has a difficult decision to make, and she also needs to help her fairy friend rescue a trident. So there are two story-lines going on, one quite exciting, the other more interesting to me, demonstrating that Rosa is a kind, thoughtful person.
Worth reading aloud if you find this - or one of the others in the series - to a child of about four or older, or as an early chapter book for someone interested in fairies and/or ballet.
