Summary
This is a great book that uses fantasy to help explain a voyage taken by a young Amelia. There are great illustrations using maps to show the different locations she traveled to and from all before returning home safely for dinner and a bedtime story.

Personal Reaction
I enjoyed the maps inside the book to physically show my daughter where we were and where we plan to travel. Something about the cover really attracts my daughter so this is a must purchase for a home collection.

Extension Ideas
I. This would be great to bring in a paper airplanes book and design various airplanes and watch all the cool tricks.
II. I would also use a map and another book and compare the different cultures that each stop she made entailed.

This is the tale of Amelia, an imaginative girl loved airplanes. She builds one and travels the world discovering many different people, animals, and landmarks. The amazing thing is that she accomplishes all of theses things, and still made it home in time for dinner!

This book cleverly uses alliteration to take the reader along a wonderful adventure with Amelia, a little girl who loves to fly so much that she builds her own airplane and then takes it from her home in the American Southwest to every Continent in the world. She is such a fantastic pilot she ia able to accomplish all of this before supper! The illustrations include geographical insets of the locations she lands, also depicted are iconic symbols of the continents she visits. This is indeed a sweet story of a little girl's dream come true.… (plus d'informations)
