Good mystery great description of the tiny seaside New England town, quirky group of old women involved in solving a murder mystery. So why only 3 stars?
The main character David is a FTM person. Why this was important or added/developed into the story is baffling. It didn’t help him figure it solve or explain why any of the characters behaved the way they did and worse not only was the character boring but it also led to being distracted from the actual story, and it took time away from developing the Mystery and most especially the conclusion, which seemed a bit rushed.
The author can definitely write well I just wish there had been more focus on the storyline.

It is wonderful. Atmospheric...complex... spellbinding... intriguing...suspenseful...(I’m almost out of adjectives) ...with really great characters. There is something new on every page...lots of puzzle pieces to put together and hopefully come to a conclusion with a likely suspect. Darn it! Just when one is solved, another one rears its ugly head...but what an experience! The author...which is new to me...takes the reader right into the story with these wonderful folks. Loved it...loved it ...loved it. Hope there is another one soon.… (plus d'informations)

David gets a frantic call from his grandmother, Maggie. She may have witnessed the murder of her neighbor and best friend. But she has dementia, so it may not be true. David left the small New England town some years ago for a reason and doesn’t really want to be back there. When not one but two people are murdered, David finds himself investigating.

There is mystery and is suspenseful at times, but is not dark (although secrets may be) nor a thriller. It is more of a character study and the reasons we do what we do and who we are. That said, I found this story moving and captivating. I enjoyed the plot as it moved well to a satisfying conclusion.… (plus d'informations)
