Barry Brown (2) (1972–)

A social science manifesto of sorts, arguing for the study of enjoyment as a topic in its own right. The connection to interaction design lies mostly in the fact that both authors come from an interaction design research environment, and most of their concrete cases concern experiential studies of interaction design in use. The areas of enjoyment they cover include play and games, family and friends, mobility and finally media. The design examples themselves are somewhat dated and mostly previously published, but some of the analytical findings can be quite inspirational to interaction designers.
