The greatest railway photographer no-one's ever heard of, Carl Bellingrodt devoted much of his life to photographing railways in Germany and Austria from the 1920s up to the early 1970s. He was more than just a photographer of trains; his pictures took in the landscape, the towns and the people. Naturally, this did mean that he recorded a lot of the everyday life of the Third Reich from the comparatively privileged position as a minor official in the regional government finance office; but he also was in a position to record the reconstruction of West Germany in the 1950s.… (plus d'informations)
