This is a basic book about the period leading to the severe blow dealt the Roman Empire by the Westerners. Brand tries to pick out the reasons there was enough ill-will regarding the Angeli to fuel the attempt to place a pretty dodgy pretender on the Imperial Throne. Informative and reasonably written.
