Well a mixed read. Although there were a lot of various cases involved and the book held reader attention, the author lacked a cohesive framework, with using typologies of chronological history would have helped immensely. I found myself lost trying to follow the stories historically in a chronological order which is what the book really cries out for. Additionally, the author makes use of rather pejorative language and berates certain actors for their lack of scruples, thus exhibiting a clear bias in hi writing which is unfortunate. One of the most interesting twists in the book is the final story of which I was, personally, unaware, but you'll have to read it to find out, since I do not want to spoil it for you. I did actually learn some information and gained a few insights which, for me is always important when reading. Even fiction can give insights into reality by helping the reader develop other and alternative perspectives. While it was not the best book I ever read, it was not bad and I would recommend it to anyone interested in the worlds two oldest professions.… (plus d'informations)
