I actually enjoyed reading this book. It put a lot of context about the campaign that was lacking in the "press." I put that in quotes because journalism appears to be dead in most cities in America. The portions about Cory's description of his losing his job to Manafort now ring with a different bell. Cory realized Manafort was not what Trump needed. We all now can see that was true. A good look to the trials and tribulations of any political campaign.

I was a political science major in college. I am fascinated by our political process. I simply can't read enough about elections, especially presidential ones. I typically read books written by both sides because of this deep desire to ascertain what happened and why. For these reasons I picked up this book by Trump's former campaign manager and another former staffer. I expected to find some incredible insights into this election from people who were on the inside. I was sadly disappointed. I expect that the only people who will like this book are Trump himself and those who listen to him blindly, regardless of facts. To sum up quickly these two authors think, or at least, write that Trump is the most amazing person, businessman and politician to ever walk the earth. There is no discussion as to how the campaign was run, what they did right or wrong, or even why things turned out the way they did. They simply claim that they always knew Trump would win because of how incredible he is. The only thing I sort of learned was how short Jason Miller's role was in the campaign and sort of why - another scandal of course! This book was a waste of my time as it was simply a fan book by two people who, despite their claims that Trump values loyalty above all else, were let go at different times and do not have any role in the White House now. Perhaps after he reads this book and sees how much these two kiss his tush, they will be back. There is no other reason for such a meaningless book.… (plus d'informations)

This book was disappointing to me. I didn't learn much from this shallow dive of the Trump campaign. Nothing surprising here and so many newsworthy moments were glossed over. The book felt rushed and just patched together. A lot of name dropping and self aggrandizement by the authors. I expected more.

This is a well written book that chronicles the policies and practices of the Clinton administration as they methodically downsized the military of the United States as well as their demoralizing and basically ignoring the intelligence community. A series of events that though the executive branch was aware of chose to ignore and focus on economic globalization at the expense of national security.

I was amazed to find out that President Clinton did not have face-to-face briefings daily with the CIA and ignored and set back any reports that had intelligence pertaining to terrorism. And how present now prominent terror organizations came into being because of these policies. The Sudan government was a great friend to the USA when Clinton took office and they offered to extradite Osama bin Laden to the USA but the President refused this offer.

The policies followed and the tone set by the White House during this time under minded the national security in favor of political correctness and appear to have a focus on pleasing China. The book also shows how before the Patriot Act existed the FBI and CIA did not share important information that could have stopped various attacks. Though the President could have facilitated this by showing an interest in national security.
