In his preface Bohn makes a point of his addition of an alphabetical Index to the original work by Ray; but it is of a curious kind, using the first word rather than a key-word, not excluding "a" and"the", so that much of it is useless as an aid to searching. However the collection is a wonderful source of random and serendipitous oddities; one could almost use it as an oracle.
