An excellent real-life trip through Africa hunting. Boddington doesn't glamorize the trip, but his love for African hunting is real. Great start if you are planning on a safari or just dreaming!

The information on the various rifles from the lowly .22, not normally associated with elephant hunting (get the book and read the chapter devoted to the .22 caliber rifle to understand what I am alluding to), to the shoulder breaking big bores that normally come to mind when the term 'safari rifle' is brought up are blended nicely with anecdotal tales that will capture the imagination. A person can read straight through this work or skip around for hours filling their heads with information and rifle related tales from Africa.
I have gone back to this book many times for information on a particular caliber or just to read once more some of the stories.… (plus d'informations)
