Lee Blessing

The author follows two men on their journey through life from teenage to seventies. He checks in at three crucial points in their life, turning points in their relationships. He portrays the difficulties of being gay in a small town in the 1940s, and also demonstrates how the changing world around them changes only very little in that town by 2001. The convention he uses to portray the men at 3 ages allows him to double characters to keep his cast list in line, but could lead to some confusion in staging if the director isn't careful. The story also develops key points in remembrances of things past before it returns to the past to show the actual event. This actually works, though it could fail miserably in the hands of a less skilled author.… (plus d'informations)
