On the one hand this is an excellent book. It shares a lot of Berrigan's reflections from his time in prison for destroying draft card files. I was really struck by his analysis of the economic situation of the time and how relevant that analysis still is today (maybe even more so now).

The one drawback is the occasional racism that pervades the book. I know that a lot of it was time and culturally bound but it's still frustrating and offensive to read it in the context of a radical christian talking about the way forward for the church and the US.… (plus d'informations)

this book was really interesting. it's philip berrigan's writings from his time in prison. i was interested in reading more about his views on nonviolence and organizing. it was fascinating to read what he thought of prison, and just that, but his whole theological framework around prison. also fascinating and educational to read about how he organized in prison.
