It has been a long ride for the emergency room nurse turned Demon huntress Gin Crawford. Her life was turned upside down in DEMON LORE and a lot has happened since then. DEVIL FORGET ME wraps up the Demon Huntress series with the answers and conclusions we have been waiting for.

Following in the footsteps of the previous books, DEVIL FORGET ME has plenty of action and danger in the storyline. I enjoyed the steps that were taken to finally be able to root out the demon behind the corruption inside the Agency.

If you read my review from book 4, DEVIL TAKE ME, you know that I was having issues with liking Aidan again. I DO like him, but I can't say that it's as much as before the end of book 3. I don't feel like you can easily come back from his actions and I don't think he really had enough time to show me that it wouldn't happen again—in fact, it was proven that it has happened in a previous relationship. I can be happy for Gin and Aidan as a couple, but I wasn't gaga over them.

T and Eloise are super cute together. I have enjoyed getting to know them individually as well as watching their relationship form. The mystery that has been Zagan has officially been completely revealed by the end of DEVIL FORGET ME.

The series definitely felt complete after the final words were read. I was happy with how things concluded.

There is a lot I want to say about DEVIL TAKE ME, but I'm afraid I might spoil something for you so I will try to keep this short and to the point.

Book three, DEMON CURSED left me pretty upset at some people, but still excited to see what would happen next. Gin is in a really bad place at the start of DEVIL TAKE ME and I was glad to see that her brother T, was there pretty quickly to start picking her up.

I enjoyed both T and Eloise in DEVIL TAKE ME. They are taking a bigger role in the overall storyline and I like all that was revealed about them. I also like the idea of a relationship between them and look forward to seeing how things might progress with them and where they end up.

Zagan continues to be a huge mystery to me. We do learn a little more about him in DEVIL TAKE ME, but I think at this point I might need a little more info to chew on to keep me interested in this part of the storyline. I'm all for little tid bits, but the tid bits are a little too little for me at this point.

I didn't feel like Aidan really made his temper tantrum from the last book up to Gin and I'm having a hard time liking him again. I mean, he left her when she needed him and put her in danger. He is supposed to be her protector, and he let her down. I just need more groveling I think. I understand he has issues, but he didn't seem as sorry as I wanted him to be. In fact, I got the vibe that he didn't really think he did anything wrong. He's still on my shit list.

DEVIL TAKE ME wasn't my favorite installment of the series, but it was still a good addition.

When Karilyn Bentley emailed me to request a review for the first book in her Demon Huntress series I agreed, but wasn't really expecting much out of it. I know, I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but I always do. The cover for DEMON LORE isn't bad, it just didn't grab me and say "read me now". Thankfully the story snuck up on me and I found myself enjoying it enough to read book two, DEMON KISSED. When Karilyn once again reached out asking for a review of book three I had no hesitation about agreeing as I was still interested in following Gin's story to see what would happen next.

DEMON CURSED has quite a bit going on. There is an attack on the agency and Gin reveals abilities that put her in danger. Gin is still wrestling with feelings for her partner Aidan—and I am SO happy to say there is some movement here I think most will love, but by the end some will hate. On top of that women are turning up dead and they are all connected to football star that is putting the moves on Gin and Zagan continues to confuse Gin —and me, cause I still can't read the situation. Lastly, Gin and her brother T's close relationship is put to the test when he blames her for an event that happens.

DEMON CURSED ends with some major stuff happening. I don't want to spoil anything by telling too much, but it's so hard not to vent a little soooo........ *Spoil Alert*. Aidan and Gin have a fight where Aidan storms off without letting Gin explain things and then she is attacked while Aidan is blocking his mind from her and she can't get his help. This made me SO mad!! He knew things were happening and she could have died! He had a right to be angry, but I am still so mad that he wasn't there for her when she needed him the most because his feelings were hurt. *End Spoiler*...... I can't even begin to imagine where things will go from there, but Aidan is on my shit list.

I found DEMON CURSED as enjoyable as the first two books and look forward to the time when Karilyn Bentley reaches out for a review of book four!

Author Karilyn Bentley writes with such creativity, you don't know where you end and she begins!

Simply put. I just love this story. It’s silly, scary, sweet and on top of that, there’s intrigue! A good story is built one sentence at a time. Karilyn Bentley writes some beauties, captivating all my senses. How does she do this, hmm? I marvel at so many sentences, just stop reading, to reread them. They very often are snarky with bold remarks, said in an unusual way. I also love how the author paints a picture in my mind by these spellbinding sentences. Cases in point quoted from the book.

The sirens grow closer, an ear-piercing wail of sorrow.

I shove to a stand and open the door. A dull clack of fingers typing on a keyboard echoes through the house punctuated by the age-old rhythm of T’s headboard thumping against the living room wall. How Smythe works with that racket, I’ll never understand.

Despite the lack of a full moon, the emergency room was packed with a variety of illnesses and accidents, dooming the staff to employ their iron bladders.

Fluorescent lights buzz an uneven tune as I head to my car.

Lucky for me the doorbell uses that moment to ring.

This whole series is written in first person, present tense with Gin’s point of view. Writing this way, Bentley puts the reader smack dab in the middle of demon and minion killing.
************

Gin Crawford, a demon huntress, is someone who can look death in the face and still say something silly. I chuckle a lot while reading. If you’ve been following the series, you’ll know that Gin used to be an ER nurse with long hours, had a sort of boyfriend relationship with a fellow who’s now dead—unfortunately, killed by a demon. Gin is sucked into be a Justitian due to her bloodlines and the bracelet which she wears, appearing one evening in her nurse uniform pocket. It’s tied to her nervous system, so they commute somewhat, at least on an emotional. Gin is new to being a demon huntress, so hasn’t learned the tricks of the trade as the other twelve Justitians.

While Gin battles with minions and demons the bracelet works to deaden her pain receptors. It also helps her finds minions, someone who works for a demon and if she’s lucky, a demon. Lucky, for the world, to eliminate evil, but she gets pretty banged up when fighting them. Sometimes, she’s close to death, but Smythe’s healers patch her up.

Talking about demons. Zagan will jump through a portal in her bedroom when she thinks she’s alone, scaring me and her. He’s decided he’s her friend. She’s glad she isn’t his servant. The bracelet dances a happy dance every time he pops in, which shouldn’t happen. The bracelet normally would change two a knife, ready to kill. Things are not what they seem with this demon. It shall be interesting to see the additional part he’ll play in the series. Frankly, I kind of like the guy. Some how I think he’s playing both sides.

Smythe, the mage who is supposed to work with Gin, has become very moody. Their relationship deepens. But Gin has a rule. No sleeping with the boss. So...

I don’t want to miss the next in the series. If you haven’t started it, you should. It is so much fun. I understood Bentley has finished the next one and will soon be ready for publishing. Go, Karilyn!

The publisher provided the read for review. All opinions and remarks are solely my own, only influenced by the talent of the author.
