This is a beautiful illustrated biography of Vivien Leigh, including some photos and letters that I understand had yet to be published prior to this book. The author has a fantastic website dedicated to Vivien Leigh and Olivier (vivandlarry.com), and it contains more photos of Leigh than I've ever seen gathered in one place. Sadly the website raised the bar so high that I was slightly disappointed that the book didn't include more rare photos. And a more in-depth look at Leigh herself.

If you could give a standing ovation to a book – this book would get it – it is superb. The photographs, several of which have not been previously published, were outstanding and beautifully reproduced. The text of this book was very readable although it did focus primarily on the time with Olivier and the author had indicated it was not intended to be a biography. Highly recommended – the photographs alone are worth it.

There are also many photos of Leigh throughout the book which I loved. Made it more real. I definitely recommend this to any fan of old Hollywood.
