Oliver Farleigh-Stubbs, slavný autor detektivek, je schopen urazit kde koho. Uprostřed rodiného večírku padá mrtev k zemi a pitva prokáže násilnou smrt. Je na detektivovi Meredithovi, aby dopadl vraha. A podezřelých je tak mnoho.

Death in a Cold Climate par Robert Barnard
A good murder mystery. A dead body is found. Who was the victim? Why would someone want to kill him? The reveal came as a surprise to me.

The Habit of Widowhood par Robert Barnard
I like some Robert Barnard novels; others not so much. This collection of short stories was OK to read, but I won't keep the book. I liked this excerpt, from the story "The Stuff of Nightmares": "I've had a good life on the whole. Shame should be felt when you haven't done what you could have done, even though you wanted to."
