A very thorough look at Nazi archaeology and its use to justify German expansion and ideology. I read this for research purposes but my topic must be very obscure because there was hardly any info on it while other things were dealt with in great depth. I was after info relating to Nazi involvement on Crete, which was only mentioned in passing. However, overall this book was excellent dealing not only with excavations, expeditions and surveys but also the myths and legends behind the Nazi obsession with the Nordic origins of the Germanic 'race'. It was well researched and well written. The end notes and bibliography were extensive. I highly recommend this for anyone who has an interest in the ways in which archaeology can be manipulated to serve a specific agenda.… (plus d'informations)
