Alan Baker has written and illustrated over 40 books of his own, six of which have been chosen for the book of the year list. These include the Little Rabbit series which have sold over 750,000 copies to date worldwide. White Rabbit's color book was a 2008 IBBY choice. His style consists of a afficher plus pencil rough with final artwork rendered using traditional methods - watercolour, pen and ink, airbrush, and crayon. The illustration is produced as separate elements and then composed and colour adjusted in photoshop using layers. Alan Baker has won the Benson & Hedges illustrators gold award, Gold Creative Circle award, Silver Campaign Press award. He also gained a IRA/CBC. "Where's my book?" wonders Gray Rabbit one fine morning. As he surveys his messy room, he decides the only way to find his book is to clean up -- but there's always one pesky item that doesn't belong!
White Rabbit's color book, is considered a non-fiction narrative book. It talks about a bunny that explores primary colors through hopping from bucket to bucket of paint. He discovers colors like green and purple in the bucket exploration and children love to make the predictions of his new colors when he is hopping in them. It can be very interactive with the children's predictions and you can also pretend to be bunnies! I love this book. Preschoolers love it too!
This book follows the day of an artistic bunny while using the alphabet to explore color, letters, shapes, and art.
