This is a wonderful story to teach children about the use of interjections in a story. Iris needs to write a story about her class when she takes over the room when her teacher leaves for an emergency. She is worried that her story will be no good. Her friend Ian works with her and reinforces what she has learned about interjections. Her story suddenly takes on a new life and becomes interesting. A great concept in how to teach this difficult part of speech to children. There are also resources at the end of the book to use. A book that should be in all school and classroom libraries.

For chapter one we talk about Sarah Burke and how she won 3 golds and 2 silvers in the half pipe competition. We also talked about how she was having a hard time from coming back from a surgery and how she did not do so good in qualifying finishing in last. She overcame all the talk and come up with a huge gold medal and got a 91.33. Then we talked about how the halfpipe beggined. Jason Levinthal was the one who loved doing moves on all sports but he had one probably on snow. The skis were not curving up on the back to it was flat so he would go down if he landed backwards. Then Levinthal came up with a board that was tilted up on both sides and called it the skiboards. He started a company and sold his skiboards they were a huge success. Halfpipes started only 11 feet tall but now they are 22 feet high. Some people still call it the half pipe. In 2014 the USSA put together team. The score is out of 100 and if do really well the judge may give you a 85.2 but you get 3 tries and the best one out of 3. The sport is actually really dangerous you have to know what you’re doing or you will get seriously injured. They will practice inside outside and all over almost all the time it takes years to be great.

I think if you're a skier or you watch the Olympics you will like this book. It tells you all you need to know if you want to be great it doesn't just happen you need to hard work. It is a good story and gives you steps and facts about the wonderful sport of ski superpipe. I like it and i hope i find another book like it. It’s really inspiring to get better and try hard. So if you like skiing, snowboarding or whatever you do. I bet you will like this book so try it.… (plus d'informations)

I thought it was interesting that the first snowboard was made of two skis bolted together. I read the book, because I want to learn how to snowboard and this was very interesting. The SuperPipe is cool, because it is just a 22 foot tall halfpipe. Who wouldn't like that in your backyard or on TV. I also thought that it was great that some of the best snowboarders have been on it. Now the SuperPipe is becoming bigger and better. What started off as just a small pipe became a the SuperPipe.

This book was a very good informational book. This book drew me in, but then like spit me out with boring facts unrelated to the topic. I also think if it contained interviews with riders it would bring a new aspect to it. It would be good for the book, because it would change it and make it different. I wouldn't recommend it to people who aren't trying to learn snowboarding culture. Overall I would give this book a 7.5 out of 10 since it lacked some key features.… (plus d'informations)
