A great demonstration of unity and a call to divided members of the Restoration Movement to meet and get to know people in the other branches of the Christian Churches and Churches of Christ. Both Authors are well known and respected in their own segment.

2006 is the centennial of the official separation of the churches of Christ from the Disciples of Christ. The authors, one from the acappella churches of Christ and the other from the Christian Church/Church of Christ, are united in a plea to unite in a common ministry.

The plea for unity is not for a united organization necessarily (both groups are made up of autonomus congregations), but for unity in the mission to save a lost world.

The Introduction is "A Call for Unity," followed by chapters on a common plea, Savior, truth, gospel, mission, and bond that churches of these streams of the Stone-Campbell religious heritage indeed have.

Examples of how the two faith groups can work together are included, but the main focus is on the plea for unity not the methods.

The authors document their awarenes of disagreements that some people may have to the idea, but stress that what the two groups have in common far outweigh the areas of difference.

The book is an easy read. It would make a good study guide for individuals and church groups (especially the two groups mentioned) who are tired petty divisions and who wish to fulfill the prayer of Christ that his disciples be one with him.
