This was a fair account of the life of the Duchess of Kent, Queen Victoria's mother. The author states that she didn't have permission to access the papers of the Duchess or Queen Victoria at Windsor Castle. This would have been invaluable, in my view, to a better biography of this lady. Perhaps a newer, updated biography is in order.

This was not as engaging as it could have been, and I don't recommend it to anyone who doesn't have a thorough grounding in European royal history, but it was full of good stories, some of them quite delicious, and well worth reading.

Engaging account of the bloody path to power many rulers have taken to their thrones. An informative page turner.

The Tudor cousins of the title, and those that were cousins of Edward VI, Mary I, and Elizabeth I. There are interesting details about the lifes of the Grey sisters, Margaret Douglas and others. A very interesting look at some of those just off the royal stage.
