I have not read it, but Benjamin Weir, former hostage in Lebanon, and professor of theology, seems to find it disturbingly apt. Just flipping through it, I see a reference to a "flat-earth, young earth" man, Scofield, who is the father of Christian Dispensationalism, the school which believes in a Manichean split between the chosen and unchosen of the world, which allows some Christian fundamentalists to side with, uncritically, every move of the state of Israel, pretty much buying that God is really behind all that they do, because they are his chosen ones (which the Christians have hitched a ride on being as well). If this is really motivating the fundies, then there is no end to their perfidy in its service. I was just saying...… (plus d'informations)
