Courte biographie
Karen Anders was a bibliophile at a young age. While other children were dragging around well-worn and well-loved blankets and teddy bears, Karen was dragging around books. In all shapes, sizes and colors, they were her constant companions. It’s no wonder that she is now writing her own books.

Karen read her first romance novel, The Princess Bride by William Goldman, in high school. After reading about Buttercup and her love, Karen was hooked, and moved on to The Sheik, a well-worn copy that was given to her by her Valentino-loving grandmother. These books opened up the world of true love to Karen, bringing with it all the excitement, joy and heartache contained in the human heart. Karen found out that romance writers know how to make love grow.

Coming from the conservative state of Vermont, it surprised Karen that she loved creating hot, sexy heroes, and the strong women who tame them. But beneath all that conservatism beat the heart of a true rebel! Karen has escaped to culturally diverse Northern Virginia and is doing her best to raise two daughters, each a rebel in their own right. Between her roles as an administrative assistant for a university dean and single working mother, it’s an adventure for Karen to find time to get in a few hours of writing amidst the mundane chores and reigning chaos of everyday life.

Karen asks readers to hook themselves to her bandwagon and hopes they enjoy reading her stories as much as she enjoys writing them. But she suggests you don’t drag them around—it’s murder on the covers.

Her first romance novel, Jennifer's Outlaw, was published in 1997 and obtained the HOLT (Honoring Outstanding Literary Talent) Medallion.

bondage and a lot of triggers. Not sexy at all. Not an enjoyable read.

I love this boxed set! I was expecting to have fun reading these books and I was not disappointed. I love dogs and books with dogs on the cover always catch my eye. I have a bunch on my Kindle and even more on my wishlist. Probably comes from [bc:Barney Beagle|2755863|Barney Beagle|Jean Bethell|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1287566743s/2755863.jpg|2781565] being the first book I learned to read. It is still beloved. Sorry. I digress.
These books revolve around 4 women who meet at a dog park and become great friends. The first book, Leashed, is about Callie and her Great Dane, Jack. The second, Groomed for Murder, is about Brooke and her bulldog, Roscoe. They were both fun romances though I enjoyed Groomed for Murder more. Maybe because of the mystery that needed to be solved. Maybe because of Roscoe. Have a box of Kleenex ready for that story. I really like the characters and am eager to read the stories of Harper and Poe. I must confess to dying for the story about Poe. Harper has a poodle named Blue but Poe...man, Poe has the Terrible Two. The Terrible Two are Jack Russell terrier named...wait for it...Edgar and Allen! I just know that story is going to be a hoot! Back to this boxed set. The stories were engaging, the characters well done and the dogs lovable. The only thing that I really didn't get into was the hot sex. It was well done. The author knows how to write a scene. I just really don't look for it in books with dogs. It doesn't distract or take away anything from the story, which is why I am not removing a star. I just didn't find it necessary to the stories. Some heat would be fine but I just felt like the hot scenes were filler. It is a personal preference though, so I only judged it on how well the author wrote the scenes. I think people who enjoy things steamy will be happy. For those who like it clean, here's your warning. I will be recommending this set to dog and romance lovers.
