Gaius Vitellius Argolicus has returned to live in Squillace where he discovers that the town and its people are suffering from a grain shortage. As he starts to investigate why, he is drawn into investigating a murder. Is this a coincidence or are there different motives for each occurrence.
An entertaining well-written historical mystery with its likeable characters. Which can easily be read as a standalone story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

In relatively few pages, this books packs not only a great mystery but also a lot of truly interesting information about the era, the religious differences of those times and even the way in which books were done.

A very rewarding reading.

I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest and voluntary review.
