This is a thought provoking book with lots of ideas to move literacy instruction forward in all schools.

This is one in a bundle that was shipped to my school which I took home to read over the summer as personal PD. It was really disappointing and I wouldn't recommend it to any staff members since I didn't learn anything that I didn't already know. It was quite American, which made me surprised that it was selected as a bulk purchase. The title sounded great, but it really wasn't very interesting or useful. It contains reviews of research, but very few specific suggestions for helping struggling readers; mostly just general ideas like struggling readers need to read more than they do right now. Huh! You think? Waste of an evening to read this book. Sorry to be so harsh.… (plus d'informations)

Straightforward, balanced, useful, and, like most how-to's, not heavy on theory or on "further questions"

I would use this book for younger children when trying to teach the basic colors. Each color has a display of that color which helps them relate it in their brains.
