Stroking Midnight - Raine Weaver - Stars - Calvary “Callie” Marsh, Josh - I haven’t been motivated to pick this up in two days so I am DNF-ing.

Ghost of Christmas Second Chance - Amy Ruttan - 3 Stars - Melora, Henry, Ghost of Christmas Past - A literal second chance romance. Melora, after living her life alone, has been given the chance, by the Ghost of Christmas Past, to go back and not only fix her relationship with Henry but save his life. It’s a little cheesy and everything happens very quickly but I liked it.

Holiday Traditions - Christine D’Abo - Stars - Ardara Raion, Grayson - This is not the fault of this story. I’m just not feeling reading sex for sex sake and that is how this whole book has felt. I know these are intended to be quickies and there is a time and place for that but it’s not here and now for me.

3-1/2 stars. I enjoyed this novel with a chatty heroine and a laconic hero. This was a fast paced easy read with the majority of the action happening in about 4 days. In this case that didn't bother me at all. I wasn't really looking for a realistic story and I really enjoyed the interaction between the slightly goofy heroine and the quiet but alpha hero. He had been experimented on and had some unusual but not out of the realm of possibility abilities. There are apparently 4 other guys who escaped from the testing facility with him. I'm looking forward to their stories.

This was well written with no big editing problems. The writing style was easy and accessible. Well done.

Annabelle has worked as gallery manager for Louis, an artist, for the last six months and is hiding the fact that she is in love with him. Then her lease ends suddenly and he invites her to move in with him. Even the blurb for this novel uses the word "cliche", but while there was nothing particularly original about the plot, it was nevertheless enjoyable. Louis is sweet and funny, and Annabelle (from whose perspective the narrative is told) is likeable and competent. There is no conflict and, apart from a burglary which occurs towards the end, little by way of real plot, but it was still an entertaining read.… (plus d'informations)
