Red Hot Steele (Daggers & Steele, #1) par Alex P. Berg
A fun murder mystery that kept me guessing. I think that Daggers and Steele had the entire cast of characters responsible for the murder. Nicely written with good, interesting characters. Well paced and a smooth read.

Your basic crime novel with bits of fantasy sprinkled on top. A really odd crime that keeps you confused as to motive until near the end. No real magic, just fun.

A little less satisfying
I like the police work in a roughly fantasy world. And the characters and plot were great.
The problem here was that the case wrapped a bit too quick and clean for me. It felt like the case wasn't quite as strong as normal.
Still gonna buy the next book as soon as it appears.

It’s a bit chaotic. As in, you’re not really sure what the plot is. Even when it ends, you’re not quite clear on what the point was.
The team was well designed, but it never felt like it jelled.
I think the largest problem may have been the MC. The character doesn’t seem like she’s real. Too many of her interactions seem forced.
Really, all of the characters are more caricatures than fully realized creations.
I actually finished this, so it is better than 3 stars. I just can’t support 4 stars.
I may read the next book. Because I enjoyed the author’s other series, not because I liked this one that much.… (plus d'informations)
