This Much Huxley Knows: I enjoyed reading this. Huxley is a super-talkative, always-on-the-move little boy and his stream of consciousness on his family and school and friends is very engaging. At first I found it a bit wearing but Huxley grew on me and his empathy for others who don’t fit in won me over. The relationships between the adults are also well portrayed. An enjoyable read!

* NOTE: I received an eBook copy in exchange for my honest review... *

First off, I must say that I was somewhat misinformed as to the nature of this book (totally my fault for not reading the synopsis more closely), thinking it was geared more towards younger readers, and intending to read it along with my son. As it turns out, it could be digested by those in their late teens, but is not really a "children's book."

That being said, I found it to be a very enjoyable read, and totally fell in love with little Huxley. Mrs. Aldwin has captured the essence of a 7-year-old boy quite accurately, describing the wild imagination, bounding exuberance, world-shattering impatience and unique outlook on life and its situations as perceived at that age.

While causing many chuckles due to his often misunderstood grasping of things, seeing the world through Huxley's eyes will give you an insight that most adults seem to have lost, owing to logic and experience. Huxley sees things on a more surface level, adding no 'emotional baggage' to the equation.

I do feel that the situation with Leonard was cleaned up in a bit of a rushed way --at the very end of the book-- but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed this brief chapter in the life of Huxley.

I love This Much Huxley Knows! I didn't want his story to end. I miss him already. I can see myself rereading this book in the future.

A story that touches on prejudice, friendship, and adult issues through the eyes of a seven-year-old boy is a fascinating concept but I was not sure if it's going to work. Despite my hesitancy, I dived into it and was pleasantly surprised that it did work!

Huxley's curiosity, linguistic-verbal intelligence, openness, and a sense of playfulness shape the uniqueness of his voice as he narrates his story. He wonders about a lot of things around him and articulates his observations and assumptions with spontaneity, purity, and cheerfulness.I found myself emotionally invested in the character of Huxley that I didn't want his story to end!

This books is great for those who are looking for a thought-provoking read that also stirs heartwarming feelings and evokes laughter.

Thank you, Gail Aldwin and Black Rose Writing for the Advanced Reader Copy. I understand that I would give it an honest review.
