I am worryingly obsessional about interior design and waste far too many hours a week coveting design accessories and rooms on Instagram and home decor websites. Abigail Ahern is one of my Instagram staples; whilst I don't 100% share her eclectic interior taste, I get what she's doing and admire her bold use of dark colours and interesting accessories and furniture. She's pretty big now in UK interiors, and was a forerunner in the trend for faux indoor botanicals.

This book has been on my Amazon wish list for a few years now, so I was delighted that my library now have it in stock. It was a quick read with some great photography. Nothing overly knew for someone obsessively devoted to pouring over interiors pictures on a daily basis, but some good tips to remember (no more than 4 colours in a room scheme.... go big with accessories, no matter how small the room (in fact especially if the room is small).

4 stars - interesting read if dark and quirky interiors are your thing.

I went books shopping a couple of days ago, and as I was leaving the bookshop, this book cover attracted my attention. It was the use of these inky colors with hues or greens and that modern touch that made me buy it on the spot.

I'm addicted to design in any form, hence I'm a designer, but of late interior design has taken a huge space in my mind. I guess with me being engaged and all that, the near elation of my touch covering a space of my very own makes me always looking for the next next project.

In any case, I adored this book, not all that's in it defines my style but I learned so much about DIY projects, picking colors and so on. I love to enhance my knowledge, and I seriously can't wait to decorate my space, and make our small apartment a home, for myself and my hubby.

Lovely! This book turned me from a white walls devotee to someone who craves dark and bright colours. Ahern's unique style pops out from every page. Unlike some books that incorporate DIY, this doesn't overload the reader with projects that are too expert-level. Perfectly balances how-to and inspiration, which is quite a feat. Also, check out Ahern's blog. It isn't as well-written, but the images are to die for.
