"Kids from all over the world have to leave their homes and countries." Splendid photos of many of these children are accompanied by their own words in speech bubbles (e.g. "We left in a hurry. We could hardly bring anything. I could only take what fit in my backpack"). The book ends on a note of hope for a world where everyone is welcome, and includes information for children on "how to help welcome someone new" and advice for how grown-ups can help.
