Larry Adler (1914–2001)

Good autobiography of famed mouth organ player Larry Adler. Stories of his encounters with so many, George Gershwin, Ingrid Bergman, Chaplin, Garbo, etc. He toured for the troops during WWII with Jack Benny. He was blacklisted during the McCarthy era. He did not spend much time at all talking about his children. It was an interesting look at a career that started in the late 1920's (when he was only 14) through the 1990's. He played many classical works like Rhapsody in Blue as well as transcriptions of works by Bach, Debussy, Vivaldi on the mouth organ.… (plus d'informations)
