A brilliant and heartwarming story...speaks on woman empowerment. This Sci-fi crafted with all the elements i.e suspense, thrill and twits to engage and entertain the readers from the beginning to end.

Set up in the new realm named South Asian Union comprising old China and India during the year 2920 AD it holds a powerful plot and great messages.

The title and the cover are fantastic.Language is good and the pace even. The impeccable charecters are relatable and the happenings are believable and unpredictable.

The author has woven an astounding tale and I recommend this book to all especially the followers of feminism .

902 years from now, the Earth is still reeling in turmoil from a Great War fought over 400 years previously. It is a world where individuals fight to survive day to day. A world in which women are enslaved and used, or killed, at the whim of ‘The Brotherhood’, a consortium loosely descended from former war veterans who formerly called themselves “The South Asian Union”. The Brotherhood’s brutal attitude toward women soon ensured fewer and fewer women were available to maintain the population; and, therefore, fewer men to maintain the power of The Brotherhood as well.

Zhang, a criminal war-lord, teamed with Dr. Adolf Nash, to supply women for scientific experimentation. The experiment? To create female babies to carry genetically enhanced embryos…to make men stronger and provide them with more women to abuse. Zhang, smelling money, used his private army to kidnap women wherever he could find them and deliver them to Nash. One such place he raided was a refuge for women operated by Karmegan, a monk. There he encountered two special women; Ruthra and Thara…women who had been abandoned to die and infants and who harbored a special hatred for men like Zhang.

What follows is the story of Ruthra, Thara and their sister survivors of Zhang’s raid as they fight to free those of their number Zhang kidnapped from Dr. Nash’s laboratory thereby sowing the seeds of a war between women and ‘The brotherhood’.

Genome Valley is written by an author with heart. The storyline is excellent and well thought out having potential far beyond the short story. Far too much of the story is necessary to develop the backstory allowing for little character development and action detail. In addition, in the short story format, there is little space for action details and for examining the emotions and thought processes of the characters. This story could be better served as a series of short stories or a novella; but this storyline would make a fine story line for a novel if the event timeline is made more believable.
As it is, Genome Valley is well worth reading, not as a sci-fi thriller, but as action/drama/thriller. It should be loved by anyone who loves action thrillers or who has a heart for the plight of abused and oppressed women. It contains many editing and proofreading issues but is a fine first effort by its author. Despite a few shortcomings, the potential strength of its storyline and the heart of the author that seems apparent between the lines make it worthy of 4-Stars.

This book was provided free by the author in hopes of receiving an honest review. The above review represents my honest opinion of the book.
