Ryohgo Narita

One of those mishmash manga that tries to stuff in everything but the kitchen sink. We have an I-see-dead-people magic user from a fantasy world transported to modern-day non-magical Tokyo where he is trapped in a teenage boy's body and immediately falls in with a group of oh-so-quirky characters including a large-breasted assassin in a school-girl uniform working for a secret crime organization run by a large-breasted woman who wears a monocle and employs a drone-obsessed non-breasted tech guy. Super-cool rogue police officers pursue them all. The protagonist hunts magic power while introducing supernatural creatures like zombies and monsters and revealing already existing, previously overlooked supernatural elements like ghosts.

And there is fan service. Breast-focused fan service. Up-skirt fan service. Scissoring lesbian fan service.

It's been labeled "mature," but this is pure male adolescent wish fulfillment fantasy. Too quirky, too creepy.… (plus d'informations)

So this is the end of the Durarara!! manga . . . well, until the Saika Arc, at least. Which is good, because I'm starting to prefer the manga over the anime in terms of focus and linear storytelling. Plus, it has much more Celty – and more Celty is always a plus in my book! Speaking of which, Durarara!!'s most recent plot arcs come to manageable and meaningful conclusions in volume four, creating a satisfactory end as well as a hook into the next story arc (the first volume of which is already available in English!).

Another quite excellent volume of Durarara!!'s manga adaptation, in which we meet more of the main cast of characters and a group of nerds decide to torture a man based on which manga he picked. You should have gone for Accel World, dude! Includes a ton of curb stompin' trashcan throwin' action and IZAAAAAAAAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~ In other words, Shizuo Heiwajima has finally shown his beautifully blond berserk head in this series and I love it. And A references to Kuroshitsuji, the manga-ka of which is Ryohgo Narita's old teacher.… (plus d'informations)
