Just a collection of page-long silent comic strips, I'd read a handful of really enthusiastic reviews about this and gave it a try. It is sort of worth reading just for the oddness factor. It tickles a part of my sense of humor that doesn't often get appealed to by other comics. Some of them are just weird without even really being quite funny, but I can live with that, too.

On the other hand, some of them I just plain don't understand. ...I'm not sure I want to begrudge it that or not. On top of that are others which give a '...I think I do understand. And it is neither that funny or that entertainingly weird.' reaction. What really bothered me, though, was how repetitive some of the strips felt. Nothing picture or occurrence-wise happens twice, but often it feels like concepts are being re-used. If the author had something new to “say” about it this time around, that would be on thing, but I can only read so many comics about a door/hole/etc leading to another dimension/location isn'tthatfunny/weird?! before getting a little tired.

In the end, I appreciated being able to try out its weird sense of humor, but I'm very glad I didn't pay full price for it. With all the repetition of concepts, I'd likely have finished feeling I hadn't gotten my money's worth. As it is there are only a handful of strips I truly like, and honestly I'd rather just have a copy of those than own the entire book.
